Large systems tend to have large data files, and a relatively small amount of space devoted to programs. If you compress your programs, your performance will suffer. In general I don't think that you will buy yourself much. BTW, you will probably go to a lot of effort to figure this out. IBM invented CPROBJ for IBM programs. At the time, IBM felt that 80% of the installed base was using 20% of the AS/400 function, so the rest could be left compressed. The ratio today is probably about 90/10. Lastly, this support was invented for small systems, with very little DASD. You probably need to execute that very painful command SPENDMONEY, and get some more DASD.
