I almost answered this one, but couldn't remember the particulars of a problem that we encountered at one time. We had a problem with blocking using the S/36E commands vs. using the native SAVS36x commands. Do you remember the difference? Was it on files? All I remember was that a guy spent a day on our /400 creating tapes for his /36 and then couldn't use them (despite using the appropriate /36 cartridge which had been formatted on a /36). The manual (in the days before CD-ROM) clearly stated the problem, and that using the native command was the appropriate answer. TIA, Dean Asmussen Enterprise Systems Consulting, Inc.
