Causes a few problems for us, I don't know how many old S/36 > applications are out there doing the same or similar things with ?WS?... The ?WS? in S/36 OCL will ALWAYS return a 2 character workstation id. The S/36 environment automatically assigns a two character manufactured id to each device name. You can find out what the assigned ?WS? id is to the device name by using DSPS36. Same goes for printers, tapes, diskettes etc. One tip I would like to point out to people who use the S/36E is change the EVOKE job initiation parameter on the S/36 environment values to *JOBQ (instead of *IMMED), so evoked jobs will be placed in QBATCH to prevent batch jobs running interactively. Of course, you can set the Use Library list for files to Y to look at other libraries for files besides QS36F. -- Thank You.
