The way I've always envisioned the SETLL and SETGT is that they are working 'in the cracks;' the 'dividing lines' between records (actually, IBM refers to it as 'positioning the cursor' of the file...). CHAIN, on the other hand, does the SETLL then a READEqual key... You just have to think backwards and inside out to get inside my head.
