Just some more final testing, and I'll be pretty >happy with the setup. You are giving up valuable lower memory by using DOS TSR programs (probably about 70-80k). This exacerbates the Windows-DOS conflict. You are also consuming a valuable DOS IRQ along with a shared RAM memory address. Any one of these conflicts can cause the problem you describe and/or other problems. I think it is worthwhile to utilize the Synapse (www.synapse.com) twinax adapter that eliminates conflicts due to its onboard microprocessor based design, onboard RAM, and double buss buffering. It uses no IRQ, no shared RAM, no DOS TSR's, and no DMA. As a byproduct it transfers data twice as fast as IBM/Clone like IO. You can use their software or any favorite you might choose. Synapse has the only twinax card that runs perfectly in high speed pentiums with no line drop off or freeze ups.
