Have you gone and talked with the state employment people? Lots of
times they offer short programs that are extremely helpful in overcoming
the bitterness that shows up in job interviews. The programs work. :)

There is a company in my area that is constantly hiring inexperienced RPG programmers that don't work out, if they hired me, it would only take me a couple of months to come up to speed and they would have a reliable programmer. For some reason they don't see this and just keep on hiring these losers. It's frustrating to say the least.
