At this point, I've decided to get out of the industry. IMO the iSeries has pretty much dried up here in the SF Bay Area. The majority of companies that still have one are buying packaged software and installing it. Custom code is becoming a dinosaur. So after 26 years in the industry my choices are to learn a new language and operating system and then hope that those jobs aren't outsourced in 5 years. Its not worth it to me at this point. I'm hoping I look good in red, since I just applied to Target for the benefits while I do my career change..... ----- Original Message ---- From: Joe Murfitt <jmurfitt@xxxxxxxxxx> To: pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx; Ken Shields <kjs@xxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: midrange-jobs@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sunday, January 28, 2007 6:44:57 PM Subject: RE: Midrange Jobs National Discussion *** Please pay close attention when replying to a message on this list! *** If you want the reply to go to the list, use REPLY-TO-ALL *** Recruiters may advertise only permanent employment positions in this list.
