For recruiters, the several non-discrimination laws - Federal and state
- on the books prohibit the passing of non-essential information such as
age, marital status or physical handicaps so as not to be a party to
discriminatory actions regarding a job applicant. Recruiters who have
taken the time to study employment law in preparation for taking the
recruiting industry's certification exam will know and abide by these
laws, but not all recruiters pursue such education and certification.
