Job Search Advice

Hi,
  Any advice out there for an AS/400 programmer/analyst looking for a part-time 
job?  I am in Michigan where jobs are hard to come by..let alone part time work 
in the midrange environment seems nearly impossible.   I will be able to go 
full time in the Fall.  Is there such a thing these days as part time 
programming jobs?  Am I wasting my time looking and should I just wait until 
late summer to land a full time job that starts in the Fall.  Also, not alot of 
AS/400 programming jobs..period!  Any suggestions are welcomed.
