Have you tried using
MATMATR  attr x'01C8'   (list available cipher functions) ?

This will tell you exactly what is usable.

I'm not sure, but OS/400 (what release are you on ?)
has a option "Cryptographic service provider"
which may be required.





On a test partition I have a simple procedure that ciphers a password with
_CIPHER builtin and works fine.

I moved the program to production partition and I get the error MCH2808
subcode X'03'

The AC3 product is installed on both partitions. What is there missing ?
