Ok, here's why:

There is an exception monitor that simply ignores all errors.
That's why you don't get an exception. As to MIMAKPTR
missing: MIMAKPTR is only called for some of the operations
that MIMBRINF supports, and you didn't seem to be using
any of those, so, as you say: "life is good", for you.
