Edit codes can't change the value of a field. Even if you mistyped 300 for 500
the zeros are at the "wrong" end of the field. There's a keying option (RZ) that
will give you "Right adjust zero fill", but there's no "left adjust zero fill".

Typing 5 + field exit with RZ will give you 005.
