When one displays an AS/400 physical file description, one can see that
there are four (4) "Allow..." attributes associated with the file. These
attributes are, in order of display, Read, Write, Update and Delete. It
appears that one may only set the Update and Delete attributes (to *YES or
*NO) at file creation time. It does not appear that one may set the Read or
Write attributes at any time. These attributes (Read & Write) are always
*YES.

Does anyone know a method, via MI (or any other language), to locate and set
these attributes? If such a method exists, would setting all of the
attributes to *NO imply that the data contained in the file is inaccessible
regardless of any special authority contained in a user profile? Would you
share the method?

Thanks for your assistance.

Rgds,
Mike
