Thanks Adrian.... Thanks, but this still won't log as a "Command" type of message. Besides that, I believe it will log to the system history log, rather than joblog (and that I *certainly* don't want). I can log to PGMQ(*EXT) (and that's what I'm currently doing), but I'd really like to have a "Command" message type. I appreciate the reply, though. You can use the API's as well if you want. I've been over the documentation for the QCAPCMD API several times, and cannot seem to find a way to have executed commands logged to the joblog (with a message type of Command). I'd like to be able to make that happen without dropping into a CL program. It'd be really cool if this could also automatically follow the rules of LOGCLPGM setting. I also don't find a way to use QMHSNDPM to send a "Command" type of message, so there seems to be no help there for "rolling your own." Do any of you wizards have tricks up your sleeves for pulling that type of thing off? Seems that it should be a built-in, so maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place. Thanks for any advice.
