James,

Can I assume the D02 has not had a significant hareware upgrade twice in the
last year? <g>

Does the system remain powered off for any significant amount of time? I don't
know the exact time limit -- I believe it is close to a month -- but this can
trigger the need for a new system password.

Barring that, do they power down across the weekend? One SWAG is there may be
an internal battery which keeps this information alive, and the battery is on
its last gasping breaths.

But that is just a SWAG -- I have heard it is not stored on the disk but in the
control panel or somewhere, which is why I suspect a battery on something as old
as a D02.
