Subject: is nmi translator off limits?

is access to the nmi translator strictly forbidden, any documentation?
===> future chapters in my eBook about AS/400 Machine-Level
Programming will explain the structure and format of NMI.

am I wasting valuable web bandwidth even asking?
===> possibly

Do 3rd party language developers have access?
===> yes, the price they have to pay is a reported
$1000,000.00 (USD). Don't know if this is true though.

Are there factions in ibm in favor of opening nmi?

Whose big idea was ile in the first place? It seems like an added level of complexity.
A two step process to create a program instead of one.
===> even if you are programming to the OPM using MI, there is
a translation of the result to NMI which is then given to
CREATE MODULE for generation of the RISC-instructions.

Has dr. frank ever voiced an opinion on omi vs nmi?
===> Dr. Frank has this cop-out in his book:
"In this section we explore the internals of a program template. For our
study, we will use the OPM program template, even though the RISC-
based systems do not support it. I've chosen the OPM for two reasons.
First, we can illustarte some of the more interesting concepts behind the
original design of the MI instruction set. Second, some of the details of
the ILE program template have never been made public"
