Don't misunderstand, I'm not observing different program behavior after re-compiling between releases. I doubt Phil observed MCH0601 space class X"00" during realloc(). Instead he probably observed MCH0601 space class X"04" (heap space). That's a different issue. I see SETSPPFP triggers MCH0601 space class X"00" (primary associated space) when operand 2 points to a V4R4 QPRCRTPG-made program. No error occurs when operand 2 points to a V4R3-or-earlier QPRCRTPG-made program. The release level of the program containing SETSPPFP does not matter. Now do you understand? Re-read my email title carefully. Read Chapter 27, Excecption Specifications, to see these space classes. +--- | This is the MI Programmers Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MI400@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MI400-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MI400-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: dr2@cssas400.com +---
