  • Subject: SETSPPFP fails over a V4R4 *PGM

Don't misunderstand, I'm not observing different program behavior after
re-compiling between releases. I doubt Phil observed MCH0601 space class
X"00" during realloc(). Instead he probably observed MCH0601 space class
X"04" (heap space). That's a different issue.

I see SETSPPFP triggers MCH0601 space class X"00" (primary associated
space) when operand 2 points to a V4R4 QPRCRTPG-made program. No error
occurs when operand 2 points to a V4R3-or-earlier QPRCRTPG-made program.
The release level of the program containing SETSPPFP does not matter. Now
do you understand? Re-read my email title carefully.

Read Chapter 27, Excecption Specifications, to see these space classes.
