We found that Memory was an issue in R9 with a couple of early adopters.
We've now been recommending a minimum of 8 GB to even our smaller
customers (20 - 50 users, single site) and this has improved performance
substantially.

Similar to Richard's comment - almost all of our customers have upgraded
their HW to newer boxes (8202's or 8203's) running OS 6.1.

Everyone I know of has taken the opportunity to upgrade their iSeries and
OS when they go to 9.0, so Dave is probably correct in his assessment. I
always get Dave involved up front. The other questions would be number of
users, speed and configuration of network, and how much were the users
using Browser at 7.7?

We moved from 7.7 to R9 in March. (R9.0) Our users are all begging to
go back to the 7.7 due to performance issues. We have already had Dave
at Infor review the stats and have been told it is a system issue (need
more disk arms). We had no system issues at R7.7.

I'm curious how many other XA users seeing this? We are single site, no
external users. We did not upgrade our hardware or OS-5.4.

Have you had INFOR review the performance of your system? Contact Dave
Colvin at INFOR.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] Performance Issues in R9

We recently migrated from R6 to R9 of Mapics. Our users are reporting
performance issues R9. We've used the index advisor to build indexes
that were taking lots of time to build. We've changed some of the
Powerlink defaults on some of the slow applications so it only brought
up a small amount of data rather than the whole file. We're in a Citrix
environment with several VLAN's to support our users. We're also using
Crystal Reports for some reports.
