Peter.

We had the same problem here. I wrote a program that runs nightly to
check the revision file against the release file and list any possible
errors for engineering to check,

If you are relying on the old item master files, the file ITMREL is used
by Mapics. I know it affects the costing. I had to get it corrected
because of costing.

I don't know if you own the source, but looking at the knowledge base
AMDFEIOR retrieves the current item revision and AMDFEP0R retrieves the
current item process record.

"We are at release 6 and release items to PDM, therefore I use ITMREL to
get the current item released, then get the item process for that item to
look up BOM's or routings."

I also thought about using that table but I already found out that during
these years, people were learning about the "release to PDM" function and
sometimes they released revisions to PDM that they should not have. In
many cases, revisions that were not the current ones.

They have better discipline today but due to the historical facts, taking
that route will not inspire me too many hopes to have accurate info.

Thank you for the tip though!
