Wil,
The system was probably designed to not tell you so someone could not have something automated to attempt a break-in. There may be an API or you would have to open up a user exit on the user profile commands to capture it.

Subject: [MAPICS-L] FTP invalid login

We are experiencing a problem where any FTP invalid login does not generate a system message on the AS/400. The user profile will be disabled after several attempts but there is no system message telling us that the user profile has been disabled.

Does anyone know how to capture this type of error? How can we get FTP invalid password to issue a system message?

Thank you.
