A long long time ago (but not in a galaxy far far away), we needed to be
able to manipulate mfg orders midway through the order release process in
order to do stuff like you are mentioning. So I put my own user exit
early in AMIPHD. At that point, both the order release batches and the
MOMAST/DATA/ROUT files are all available. That let me set flags (if
necessary) to do printer overrides in the CL, or insert calls to programs
to tweak the data as required. For example, to change at what warehouse
the order should be printed. I am extremely loath to modify any MAPICS
code, I strictly adhere to user exits (or completely replacing their
program with one of my own), but this one has proven extremely valuable.
To date (and this has been in effect since 1989), the only time I have to
do anything with this self-imposed user exit is to re-add it every time I
do a jump in release level. And I've yet to be burned. (The object is in
a higher library on the list than AMALIB.)
This option requires a little coding, but nothing too complex.

We have 2 warehouses which are in different facilities. When we release
the Shop Packets we would like to have it print at the appropriate facility
based on the warehouse code. The "PRINTER OVERRIDE MAINTENANCE" option
does not allow for a Warehouse/Report override for program AMI4HRP1. Since
the same person will be releasing shop packets for both
facilities/warehouses, it would be a hassle to have them have 2 different
sign-ons to control the warehouse printing. I've placed an incident call
to Infor support concerning this and the options that they had me try did
not work. They said that the Warehouse/Report overrides only work with COM
reports and a select few other reports. They suggested posting this to the
Midrange forum. Has anyone else had this situation? How do you release
shop packets from a central facility to print at multiple plants?
