The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
We just had our MAPICS BP come in and do some looking into that. It
seems that this solution would not work for us.

Re: [MAPICS-L] JIT tie in to MRP
Nick,
One of the "feature/functions" of an Advanced Planning and Scheduling
(APS) solution is to link material requirements to the point of use (ie,
to the operation where the material is consumed). But as a caveat, always
check to insure that an APS solution has the functional capabilities for
which you are looking. All APS solutions are not designed the same.
Dale G's suggestion is good too; check into the "operation where first
used" field in the MAPICS data model.

Hello everyone,
We are at MAPICS XAR6 and our OS is V4R5.
What we would like to do is have MRP tell us when to schedule our material
over a period of time, phased, instead of all at once. Something like
JIT. We have many long running, weeks to months, jobs and MRP tells us to
have all of the material ready when we start the job, which isn't
feasable.
Has anybody done anything like this?
Vendor responses welcome.
Thanx,
Nick
