We at Eaton Electrical in Fayetteville, NC use the Intermec Trakker 2425 handheld scanners to scan cards and create inventory transactions. The screen is about the same size as the one you are speaking of and we have special programs and screens that only use the available number of rows and columns. We then feed the transactions directly to the PMC application via our own set of processing programs. By using the PMC application, you get real time transaction processing without the batch closing and running of the posting process. Everything seems to work pretty smoothly. Just make sure you don't use too many characters on the screen as the windowing left and right with the arrow keys on the handheld is quite cumbersome. Wayne R. The screens are 16 rows by 20 characters wide. It doesn't allow the full green screen to be displayed in Inventory transactions - (option 1 on menu AMIM30). We are considering writing a program to create an offline file for using these devices. Is anyone else using these or similar devices? And if so, how are you handling the screen size for Mapics applications? Thanks, Brenda Trisko iSeries Systems Programmer/Analyst Douglas Machine Inc.
