In ou old PBX system we added an extra ',' to increase the duration of the pause following the '9' to allow for dial tone recognition. syntactically we entered: 9,,1800XXXXXXX But, it's also possible that the line is now digital and the modem is looking for an analog line? -----mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: ----- To: MAPICS ERP System Discussion <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> From: Nick_Radich@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent by: mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx Date: 02/23/2006 07:00AM Subject: [MAPICS-L] ECS phone line Hello again, As long as I'm in the mood for keying messages today, here's another one. It is not really about MAPICS, but. We recently changed the way our phone system works, and now I have to put a '9,' in the beginning of the outgoing phone number on anything dialing out of our AS/400. Everything works great except our ECS line. I keep changing it using WRKCTLD QESCTL, and then doing a 2 to change it. I then change the phone number to have a '9,' in front of it and the system accepts the change. But whenever it runs, I get error CPA58D9, Call to controller QESCTL on line QESLINE failed. Remote busy. This is caused because the phone line is now going through our switchboard. When I look at the Controller Description again, the system changed the phone number back to what it was, without the '9,'. Does anyone have any thoughts?
