Hope you are doing well. You are exactly right, the GMD Purchasing product
was acquired by IBM in 1986. I clearly remember the bumps and bruises I
received from my customers as an IBM SE when the product did not work.

Marcam purchased the rights to MAPICS from IBM in 1993. I'm trying to
establish when IBM bought the rights of Purchasing from GMD. I think it was
1986. Any thoughts?

application. I know that it was originally written by GMD, and became part
of MAPICS in 1984. But what happened to GMD? Were they acquired? Do they
still exist today? When did IBM (or whomever) acquire the Purchasing
"intellectual property" (source code)?
