You are correct Joe, I thought that prior to that they had a purchasing module.
I could be wrong, there has been a lot of changes and spins since I first sat
down in front of MAPICS in 1980.

        Marcam purchased the rights to MAPICS from IBM in 1993. I'm trying to 
establish when IBM bought the rights of Purchasing from GMD. I think it was 
1986. Any thoughts?

        I'm trying to fill in the historical timeline for the MAPICS Purchasing 
application. I know that it was originally written by GMD, and became part of 
MAPICS in 1984. But what happened to GMD? Were they acquired? Do they still 
exist today? When did IBM (or whomever) acquire the Purchasing "intellectual 
property" (source code)?
