Wow Bob! That is a big assignment. Does your management understand that they will have to invest a significant amount of time and money to go from zero to an operational EDI system? I would set up a meeting with your MAPICS affiliate to get briefed on the EC module and its cost. Also plan on attending some training to learn of to set up and use EC. I would consider hiring someone to do the set up as it is frustrating to try to do something with very little experience on the subject matter. Once everything is set up and you are trained, EDI can be a very rewarding experience. Good luck and keep us posted. There are many skilled EDI folks on this list. The inbound files are on a website and I have to use FTP to download these files into MAPICS. My plan is to reveive 850's and send 810's. Can this be done? What options do I have? I know very little about EDI and I can't understand how I can receive these files and rename them on the 400 so I can extract the data I need to use offline load in COM. Any comments will be appreciated.
