Bob, For the MAPICS jobs that we have to run on schedule that don't allow us to call with parameter passing, we had to purchase Robot from Help Systems. We found it to be worth the money to resolve the aggravation. An alternative, of course, is to write your own reports that can be called with parms. An additional advantage is that you will probably save a lot of paper..... I need to run several MAPICS reports on a regular basis. Specifically, this time I want to run a series of Inventory Status Reports (AMI2B) each with a specific Item Class range. I want to automate this so I don't have to go thru several screens and tab thru several options for each and every report. It is so redundant it is easy to fall asleep and make a mistake. I only have a basic knowledge of AS/400 inner workings, so I don't know things like how to copy the LDA, but I can program in CL or RPG. Is there anywhere I can go or anyone who can help with basic step-by-step instructions about how to setup a CL program to run a MAPICS program? I have been here before and will probably be back again until I get it figured out. (grrrrr) I have just never been able to get all the pieces together. I have even solicited my affiliate to do this, and expect some kind of answer soon, but thought I would try this trek up the mountain to find the Guru-Of-Batch. Why is it so difficult for MAPICS to respond to the age old SIMPLE request to call a report program with parameters? I know many people have asked, and many people smarter than me have done it.
