Do you have the CL program to do the IPL Shawn Thobe Supervisor - Information Systems Fort Recovery Industries Inc. 419-375-4121 -----Original Message----- From: mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of LDegnon@xxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 4:01 PM To: MAPICS ERP System Discussion Subject: Re: Performance Issue When we were on our old 170 "Tiny Tim" AS/400, I wrote a CL that I put into the job scheduler that did an IPL every week. Every now and then, if I was going out of town, I would turn it off and forget to turn it back on. Things would really get slow until I re-IPL'd. So yes, for me it made a big difference. Lloyd H. I'm new to the 400 so no laughing, I have never done and IPL on this server. I was told by a tech at MAPICS to do a monthly IPL and do a recapture of space. Is this standard practice? Will it improve performance? We are looking at cleaning up some files that have grown very large. I'm assuming we would do the recapture after cleaning these up. Thanks for any assistance.
