Tim,
 
I have had to develop a pre backup procedure to go through the records in the 
IM batch control file and mark the records that are left open or suspended as 
finished.  It is not a difficult program to write.  The only issue that needs 
to be resolved is how do you want to handle the batches left open or suspended? 
 Especially the suspended batches, since the info may not have been posted to 
IM.
