Thanks Albert, this is a good explanation which I think applies to Registered User type licenses. We currently have a processor based license. -----Original Message----- From: Albert Codinha [mailto:Acodinha@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 3:43 PM To: MAPICS ERP System Discussion Subject: RE: Query of concurrent users Bryan.....I'm new to the MAPICS game so take what I say with a grain of salt. I was told that the WRKLICINF command will show you all licensed users that are signed on, or have ever signed on previously. In theory, if you were to get a dedicated mode and delete all the licensed users (using the WRKLICNF display), when the system came back up each and every time a "licensed somebody" signed back on again they would "grab" an "available slot" and would then appear in the WRKLICINF display. If they never signed on again after that, they're still in the WRKLICINF display (unless you clear them from it again). Thus, when an employee leaves the company you need to go to this display and delete them from the list, so you can stay underneath your license threshhold/limit. -----Original Message----- From: Burns, Bryan [mailto:burnsbm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2004 1:23 PM To: MAPICS ERP System Discussion Subject: RE: Query of concurrent users Thanks Ron. I know some CL but I am not a programmer so I may ask someone here to make use of the API. Before I do however, do you know why WRKLICINF shows usage type *Concurrent with 174 users but if I query a count of names in JOBACT the result is 132? Although there are indeed about 174 records in JOBACT, MAPICS says that multiple sessions on the same workstation count as only one license for concurrent user licenses. Many of our users use two or three sessions on the same PC which should count as one license each. I am investigating this because we currently have tier based pricing and MAPICS gave us a ridiculous license quote if we upgrade our hardware.
