Willie,

Good question - I assume you want to check the attributes of the spool file
to see if it is on hold. A quick search of the IBM AS/400 Knowledge Base on
"spool file attributes" turned up some API's for checking attributes. Try
this link (you may have to cut&paste into your browser):

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/1ac66549a21402188625680b0002037e/b9

Specifically, look at the API "QUSRSPLA -- Retrieve Spooled File
Attributes".

Subject: Help reading print spool file.

I need some help with reading a file in CL. I have a CL that does the
following:

CPYSPLF FILE(QPRTSPLF) TOFILE(QS36F/SPLFPRT)

LOOP: RCVF /* Read file SPLFPRT */

What I need to do is check the &status field for an HLD. If it finds this
then it will go to the LOOP and read again. If it does not find HLD, it
will continue.

Any help would be appreciated.
