When you "drop" the report to the desktop (or elsewhere), what format is
the resulting attachment that will be emailed?  The destination of most
of these reports do NOT run MAPICS, nor do they utilize AS400 hardware.
So a PC-friendly solution (such as Microsoft Office or PDF) is
needed.<g>

Do you want to go automatically all the way or you want to have some
"control" on it? 

If the second option is acceptable, you can use the iSeries/AS400
Navigator and drag and drop the report to your desktop; then you can
send the attachment  by email...
