I hate to mess with our pre-backup command, being that I am not here to fix
it if it blows up.

As you can see there is not much there. Do you know of amy risks in changing

Also in the "Before" option for the MAPICS backup, we call a CL program that
has the CHGJOB command and change to use the *SYSRPYL there instead of
changing the AMJOBD permanently.

Thanks, that must be it!  AMJOBD is currently set to *RQD.  I'll set it to
*SYSRPYL and see what happens. (on the weekend - can't afford many more back
fiascos :))

By the way, how many tapes do you other MAGSTAR users require for daily back
up?  I long for the day when we only used one!
