I normally run a file status report and compare it from month to month to see which files are out there. I look for the biggies and work my way down the lists.. Also, on a monthly basis I run the as/400 command, RTVDSKINF to then print out reports on the biggest libraries/folders. I have found that most of my customer's disk space is not taken up by MAPICS, but all those PTFs in AFDWEB or the IFS or Domino. I find that MAPICS normally takes up a very small percentage when it comes to overall disk usage.. Now, each customer is different, but as a whole it really isn't a lot. If you only have 20GB of DASD, then yes, MAPICS is taking up a lot of space, but if you have say 300GB of dasd, you have a lot of room to grow. Must be a leftover from IBM days to promote disk sales. I too wonder if there are any other files that need housekeeping.
