Michael, Regarding your points: (1) MAPICS handles foreign language item descriptions and foreign currency pricing. Costing is a can of worms. EPDM is able to maintain separate costs by Site. You would have to do something to have EPDM send the right costs to the AS/400 based on warehouse. (2) Date formatting is controlled by common routines throughout MAPICS. I don't know if this is MAPICS or AS/400 function. In any case, once you find the routine, modifying it would not be that difficult. (3) All forms in COM, IFM, and PUR have exits that let you modify them as needed. I searched for camelon + software + mapics in Yahoo and got 21 hits. It might be worth checking out. One more point. The IFM currency conversion routine assumes one base currency per environment. You need to change this routine so it gets the base currency from the warehouse, site, etc. Bob Tenney Bob Tenney Solutions, LLC MAPICS - FRx - Presence - Crystal Reports 828-526-8976 Visit www.tenneypubs.com for books about IFM, COM, G/L Interfaces Info WorkPlace, Cost Accounting, FRx, and PRESENCE ----- Original Message ----- From: <michael.franchino@xxxxxxxxxx> To: "MAPICS ERP System Discussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 02, 2003 8:20 PM Subject: Re: Local Currency Support > Separate environments are unfortunately not available for us to do.. > Integration for the Cameleon application is the basis for the decision for > a single environment. > > Other issues that we have had to concur also include date format, forms > (need to print in the language of the customer or warehouse), > > We are handling everything with, triggers. > > Bigger issues - Same item, but different (cost, price, descriptions, etc.) > We have had to EPDMize PM, COM, etc. to support items at the site level. > > If anyone has any additional words of wisdom like Bob's, that would be > greatly appreciated since this needs to happen by the end of June for 2 > months of testing. > > Michael Franchino > Custom Systems Corporation > http://www.cussys.com > (973) 726-0202 X214 (Phone) > (973) 726-4552 (Fax) > > > > > "Bob Tenney" <bobtenney@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent by: mapics-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > 06/02/2003 06:13 PM > Please respond to MAPICS ERP System Discussion > > > To: "MAPICS ERP System Discussion" <mapics-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> > cc: > Subject: Re: Local Currency Support > > > Jack, MAPICS lets you do business in multiple currencies in the same > environment.
