Chuck, The answer to your question depends on whether you are manufacturing-to-stock or manufacturing-to-order. If you are manufacturing-to-stock, the component items in the end item that you are selling has already been backflushed. COM generates an SA transaction to reduce the end item's inventory. If you are manufacturing-to-order, then you have to issue an MO and let IM do the backflushing.
