Suspending Items

Greetings,

 

I have a situation where I need to suspend items and not allow any
transactions processed against them.  According to MAPICS you can
suspend the item balance but that's for creating new customer,
manufacturing, or purchase orders.  I have thought about deleting the
item balance but then you lose the YTD history and that's something the
company wants to keep incase they want to reuse the item again down the
road.  I was wondering if any of you have any ideas that can help me
accomplish this task. We only have the core green screen applications
(no EPDM, Browser, etc.).
