You should look at using AVR to develop an interface between your Access tables and MAPICS, or use AVR to replace Access all together. I would consider using AVR to replace Access, while ODBC will allow you to update data in MAPICS physical files, the security maintenance of ODBC will be a headache. We used to use Access & ODBC, but moved away from it because of security and speed. AVR replaced it very nicely, and even allowed us to develop web based solutions.
