Bob!!! How goes it? You may want to look at one of the enhancements they added last year to restore and environment from a save file image. The download was SH61680. From looking at the code it should be easy to run or schedule from a command line. I have noted that the first job in a newly created environment seems to fail, possibly due to initializing the MAPICS job number. Good luck Konrad -----Original Message----- From: Bob Randall [mailto:BLR@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2003 12:07 PM To: 'Mapics List' Subject: XAR6 Nightly Environment Copy I have received a request to create an environment copy for testing and simulating production changes. This needs to be done on a nightly basis. The instructions from MAPICS Support have about 14 steps, most of which can be put in a CL program, but a few need either a special program written or to be done manually. Does anyone have a shortcut to the 14-step manual process from MAPICS Support? We are using MAPICS XAR6. I don't want to leave this manual process "as is" for my night shift person. Regards, Bob PS: Just an interesting side note. We have a division that is running Frontstep. There had been discussion about converting them to MAPICS or not. I guess I can now report they are working with MAPICS ;-) _______________________________________________ This is the MAPICS ERP System Discussion (MAPICS-L) mailing list To post a message email: MAPICS-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/mapics-l or email: MAPICS-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/mapics-l.
