Tom, Hmmm, generating a "Word" document from the AS/400 is going to be tricky, if not impossible. I talked with someone pretty knowledgable about this and he said the only way it could be done is using Java and you would have to have the capability of setting up classes in MS to use API's. A custom program API would have to be written on the AS/400 to send the right parms to the MS API to generate the document. Another thought would be to create your document as an ASCI file that resides on the AS/400 with an index to select from. Are you trying to create MSDS forms with your packing slips or some other type of information automatically? You can always copy the Packing Slip print program, rename it and call it from the User Exit as well as calling additional print programs before returning to your originating program. I do know there were a couple of companies that use Office Vision which resided on the AS/400 (not supported by IBM any longer though) that they were able to execute this type of function seamlessly.
