Krishan,

Tell your management to purchase ValetMiner and PrepP for MAPICS - no need
for programming! PrepP allows you to download any AS/400 report or query
(spool file), and VM parses it into Excel, Access, or any number of other
formats.

If your company has the Client (Browser), it is easier yet - select the view
that contains the data you want and copy to clipboard, then paste into
Excel. Again - no programming!

If you're going to write programs against MAPICS database, you will need
EXTENSIVE work to understand where the data you need resides in those tables
(files). Once you know WHERE the data is, getting it to the PC is easy!
Finding the data is 99.9% of the work...

PS I do not work for Momentum (makers of VM/PrepP) or for MAPICS.

I saw ur Articals in net.. I have Little Problems with Mapics. we are using
Mapics with our AS400. but My managment need some Report form that in MS

So I'm Visual Basic Software Developer. I need a Develop Simple Application
to Get data From Mapics to Windows. I'm Planning to use ODBC  in windows.

I want to Connect Mapics DB to via ODBC and Take Files Name and Fileds,
Type... ect.. Then   I need to Quary with some Releation ( Like ..Select *
>From Item..) and send that Quary to DB and Take Record set. that record set
I can Send to MS Execel ar Access.

I don't know about Much about Mapic and DB2 /AS400. But I'm  Windows base
Visual Basic Programmer..

Please Help and Guid me how to do this task..
