Keith, Green screen MAPICS strengths are MRP (circa 1980), product data management and production control and costing. Customer order management is ok if you fit its profile but it is not a distribution oriented system in any sense of the word. In particular serial number support, commissions, and flexible invoicing are absent. Financials are either weak (GL/AR/AP) or unwieldy (IFM) with a strength being multi-currency. Inventory management has some major limitations but is flexible. IM is probably what gets modified first since it is very, very labor intensive. Reporting overall is very weak. Lots of paper, too much info, limited ability to chose subsets to print. The GUI pieces mostly mimic the green screen function in a prettier form. HTH Konrad
