Lisa,

We have our own custom COM module for serialization.
At the point of invoicing it is brought over into
WC/Fields with a nightly job. MAPICS is so poor at
doing serial numbers that I would recommend doing
it in WC/Fields unless you are willing to go through
the pain of trying to integrate serialization in a
useful fashion in COM. Hopefully your serial numbers
are unique, ours are only unique within Model number
and WC/Fields just hates that! (not to mention not
working well at all)...
