Yep - we get better service also as a result of continually sharing their
requirements. As a result, some vendors actually give us better pricing
also - they like being able to plan their production requirements (we
schedule out 12 months). It REALLY is effective if you plan with order
policy code "G" (days period of supply).

We have something similar.
A query that is run against PLNORD , select by warehouse and vendor, and
then sort by item then date(ascending)
This picks up all open orders and all future requirements.
We email this to our suppliers - and where that's not possible we fax it.
Our vendors are grateful for the forward notice that this gives them and
they can plan to give us better service because of it.

Yes, we do that. We wrote a reformatted version of the MRP report data
and fax it to them automatically or on demand on a weekly basis. We also
include new P.O.'s on the report. We use Cornerstone Communications
Unifier/400 that allows us to easily route reports to either a fax# or an
e-mail address with no (or minimal) programming.
Here's an example:
