We are in the process of changing our current procedure on this topic.
Currently we have a custom written application that handles the RMA
process.  This app was written about 7 years ago and does not have any
abilities to create a credit memo once the material is returned. When it is
returned someone must then enter a credit memo for what was returned.  Not
very efficient, because someone must basically enter all the info twice.

So we are implementing a new process where the Customer Service person
enters a credit memo to serve as the RMA.  When the material is actually
returned the credit memo is processed and the customer is given credit (or
not) for what they returned.

I am interested in learning what others have done with RMA processing. Has
anyone used COM or interfaced with it in some way facilitate issuing and
tracking RMA's.
