Sorry for the confusion. The "first one" is the leftmost position. If you manually assign MO numbers, you can have M11111A or  MX11110. You cannot have 
X123456 as an MO number.
Putting significance in a key field like the MO number really limits your flexibility. If things change reassigning MO numbers is a hassle. Letting MAPICS assign MO numbers and using the Manufacturing Order Accounting Class to group them is usually a better solution.
