The "M" stands for Manufacturing Order, there are also "C" Customer Orders and
"P" Purchase Orders.

Subject: Structure of Manufacturing Order Numbers
Environment: Mapics DB/Y2K (Mod 4)
IM, PDM, PC&C
Hi Mapics ML Group:
I was looking the Mapics PC&C Manual trying to determine how Manufacturing
Numbers are structured and assigned.
It appears that the numbers are incremented in tens; therefore the last digit is
always a "zero." The exception to this is when MO's are split and then one of
the MOs may have a "5" in the last digit.
What about the first digit; does it have to me a letter "M?"
I look forward to your responces and I hope you all have a nice weekend.
Regards....
