This is the way we did it. Some brief notes. 1.) World Ship requires a Day end procedure which links to the main database on the web and transfers the updates to the local database. We turned on the option to export to a *.csv file once the updates are applied. 2.) Set up two files on the as/400. One for the shipment header and the other for the package details. A shipment may be comprised of one or more packages. If a shipment contains only one package then the tracking number and the shipment id are the same. Every package has its own tracking number, charges, weight etc. 3.) Use Access 97 (service pack 2) database to link to the shipment header and package details file via Client Access ODBC drivers (V3R1 Modification level 2 Service level SF52313). 4.) Set up macros and queries to import the *.csv file right after the Worldship day end procedure termines. This process updates the datafiles on the as/400. 5.) We use Integrator to link these two tables to a Browser screen. There users are able to browse records by order no or purchase order no. Once you have the data on the as/400 side, what you have left is just the presentation side. I hope this helps. Let me know. Then we want to capture data from the order to create Export documents. We use UPS On-Line now and will be upgrading to World Ship. Need to streamline the duplicate data entry.
