I've got some trial x5250 packages (i386 & x64) up at
http://www.dbg400.net/foswiki/bin/view/DBG400/X5250UbuntuPackages
which might help. I've got Karmic on my Acer Aspire One netbook and
just installed tn5250 from the Ubuntu repositories. I then installed
the i386 .deb from the link above. Initially it failed to find
lib5250.so.0 but worked after running tn5250 first. x5250 ran fine
after a reboot. Might be related to tn5250 being installed in a
different location when built from source compared to installed as a
package. If you give it a go let me know either here or to my email
address.
